Forecast Snow Stability: New isolated accumulations will develop mostly around corrie rims and gully tops on North through East to South-East aspects above 900 metres. New deposits are expected to be shallow and generally inconsequential. Older snow, greatest on South-West to North-West aspects, will soften where exposed to the sun but remain well bonded throughout. Shaded areas will be firm and icy. The avalanche hazard will be Low.

Forecast Weather Influences: Overnight light snow expected around 1000 metres, rain at lower elevations. By dawn the freezing level will have dropped to around 800 metres but will rise again above most of the summits by late afternoon. Winds, will be variable throughout the period, strong overnight from the South-South-West veering to the North-West around dawn but easing significantly and backing to the South-Westerly by late afternoon. Observed Weather Influences: Wet and mild overnight followed by a dry, sunny day with high cloud cover. Around 2 degrees at 900 metres early afternoon. Gale force winds from the South-South-West. Surface layers are soft, particularly where exposed to the sun but remain firm at higher levels and in shaded areas. Greatest snow amounts are found mainly on South-West through North-West to North-East aspects above 800 metres. The avalanche hazard is Low.
