Forecast Weather Influences: The freezing level will be around 700 metres, it is expected to be dry and clear, maybe even sunny. Winds will be light Southerly at first, strengthening through the day becoming moderate or strong. Observed Weather Influences: Colder conditions last night affected the area with some light new snow falling mainly above 850 metres. It was a dry morning with just the odd light isolated shower in the afternoon. The freezing level fell to around 900 metres, winds were light to moderate from a Westerly direction. ObservedSnowStability: The overnight cooler conditions have stabilised the moist snowpack of recent days. The dusting of new snow that arrived is not deep or extensive and exists mainly above 850 metres. The snowpack is generally stable on all aspects and is often firm and icy above 900 metres. The avalanche hazard is Low.
