Forecast Weather Influences: Generally dry during the morning with some light snow during the afternoon. There will be a strong breeze from the West backing to the South-West during the day. The freezing level will be around 600 metres. Observed Weather Influences: Heavy snow showers overnight and through the morning became lighter during the afternoon. Moderate winds were from the West. Fresh cornices above these aspects are unstable and prone to collapse. Below 900 metres there has been less drifting and the fresh snow is generally sitting on bare ground and so stability is better.
