The weather will be very mild. Outgoing longwave radiation during the night will be good. The surface of the snowpack will freeze to form a strong crust and will already soften in the late morning. As a consequence of warming during the day and solar radiation medium-sized and, in isolated cases, large natural moist avalanches are possible, in particular in steep rocky terrain, as well as on cut and grassy slopes. Snow slides on road cut slopes. Careful route selection is recommended. Backcountry tours should be concluded early. In addition the no longer entirely fresh wind slabs must be taken into account. They are in some cases prone to triggering. Single winter sport participants can release avalanches in some places, caution is to be exercised in particular at transitions from a shallow to a deep snowpack, when entering gullies and bowls for example. In particular here the avalanches can be released in the old snow and reach quite a large size.
The weather conditions fostered a settling of the near-surface layers. In its middle, the snowpack is unfavourably layered. The spring-like weather conditions from the late morning will give rise to increasing moistening of the snowpack in particular on steep sunny slopes below approximately 3300 m. Adjacent to ridgelines and in pass areas snow depths vary greatly, depending on the infuence of the wind. There are large frames on the crest. In these regions at intermediate and high altitudes a lot of snow is lying for the time of year. Small and medium-sized moist avalanches have been released in the last few days.
The weather will be warm. The weather conditions will foster a stabilisation of the snow drift accumulations. The danger of natural wet avalanches will not decrease for the time being.
