Forecast Snow Stability: Areas of weakly bonded windslab will persist with new deposits developing especially in wind sheltered locations. Greatest accumulations will be above 850m particularly in sheltered gullies and on steep slopes with a N to SE aspect. Fragile cornices will also exist above similar areas. Cross loading may affect some other wind sheltered aspects. Wind exposed slopes the stability will generally be better with a light cover of new snow on a firmer base. The avalanche hazard will be Considerable.

Forecast Weather Influences: The freezing level falling to around 300 metres with new overnight snow falling on strong North-Westerly winds. Drier conditions are expected through the rest of the forecast period and winds will ease veering to become more Easterly direction by the end of the day.. Observed Weather Influences: New snow fell overnight mainly above 700 metres. This morning was predominately dry with light to moderate West to North-Westerly winds. After the cool night the freezing level rose to around 800 metres. Visibility came and went, the high summits were generally cloud covered with the sun trying to break through.
