A clear night: Outgoing longwave radiation during the night will be quite good. The surface of the snowpack will freeze to form a strong crust and will already soften in the late morning, in particular on sunny slopes below approximately 2700 m. As a consequence of warming during the day and solar radiation medium-sized moist and wet avalanches are possible, caution is to be exercised in particular at the base of rock walls, as well as on very steep grassy slopes. Gliding avalanches are still possible. Backcountry tours and off-piste skiing should be started very early and concluded timely. As a consequence of a moderate to strong wind from northwesterly directions, clearly visible wind slabs formed on Monday in particular adjacent to ridgelines and in pass areas. They can especially at their margins be released, even by a single winter sport participant. Avalanche prone locations are to be found in particular on very steep slopes and in gullies and bowls, and behind abrupt changes in the terrain.

In particular along the border with France and along the border with Switzerland 10 to 20 cm of snow has fallen above approximately 2400 m. On Monday the wind was moderate to strong. The weather conditions gave rise to moistening of the snowpack over a wide area especially at low and intermediate altitudes, this also applies on shady slopes below approximately 2500 m. A lot of snow is lying at intermediate and high altitudes. In the last few days on very steep sunny slopes many medium-sized avalanches were observed.
