40 cm of snow, and up to 60 cm in some localities, will fall in all altitude zones, especially above approximately 2000 m. The sleet will give rise in the afternoon to increasing moistening of the snowpack below approximately 2100 m. The fresh snow as well as the wind slabs will become increasingly prone to triggering in all aspects. These can be released even by a single winter sport participant above approximately 2200 m. At elevated altitudes the avalanche prone locations are more widespread. The natural activity of dry avalanches will rapidly increase. Some large natural avalanches are not entirely ruled out, in particular in the regions neighbouring those that are subject to danger level 4 (high).

The Avalanche Warning Service currently has only a small amount of information that has been collected in the field. Over a wide area new snow and wind slabs are lying on a hard crust. Above approximately 2100 m snow depths vary greatly, depending on the infuence of the wind. Below approximately 2200 m a little snow is lying. The old snowpack will be generally well bonded.
