Avalanche Activity
There is a low avalanche danger in the Low Tatras. Due to significant cooling, the soaked snow cover has stabilised. The most dangerous are S, SE and E orientations. Especially in steep narrow couloirs and on the leeward sides of ridges there may be locally new snow from Monday's snowfall. Its release is possible with high additional loads on very steep slopes. Spontaneous avalanches are not expected.
Snowpack Structure
As a result of Monday's significant cooling, the water-soaked snow cover froze and stabilised. Up to 5 cm of new snow has fallen in the last 24 hours, but it is very unevenly distributed due to the wind. Continuous snow cover is found from 1600 m above sea level and mainly on eastern to north-eastern orientations.
