Avalanche Activity

In some regions 10 cm of snow will fall. Hardly any increase in avalanche danger.

From early morning mostly small wind slabs will form. Individual avalanche prone locations are to be found in particular in steep terrain at elevated altitudes and on shady slopes. They are to be evaluated with care and prudence in particular in terrain where there is a danger of falling. In particular on very steep slopes small and, in isolated cases, medium-sized natural avalanches are possible as a consequence of new snow and wind.

Snowpack Structure

Up to 10 cm of snow has fallen since yesterday. The sometimes storm force wind has transported the new snow significantly. Towards its surface, the snowpack is weak in some cases and its surface consists of loosely bonded snow lying on a crust that is strong in many cases. This applies in particular on shady slopes,. The old snowpack remains generally stable. The snowpack will be generally subject to considerable local variations.

Tendency

The avalanche danger will increase but remain within the current danger level.
