Highlights
The general avalanche hazard is MODERATE today. Strong west winds and new snow have formed new soft slabs 6 to 18 inches in depth. These slabs lie upon weak layers of buried surface hoar, depth hoar and slick crusts. Soft slab avalanches will be easily triggered today on steep wind loaded aspects. Avoid gullies, terrain traps and avalanche prone terrain.
