Highlights
The general avalanche hazard is MODERATE in steep wind loaded avalanche prone areas which are underlain by old layers of weak faceted October snow. In these areas pockets of new soft slab up to one foot in depth and dense old slabs up to two feet in depth could be triggered by riders or skiers. The old dense slabs could be crossed more than once before being triggered. Avalanches are unlikely in areas not underlain by a weak layer of faceted October snow at the base of the snowpack.
