Highlights

Very strong west-southwest winds have scoured some avalanche starting zones and deposited soft and hard slabs one to three feet deep in others. These slabs lie upon suncrust on sunlit aspects and weak layers of faceted snow on shaded aspects. DANGEROUS natural and explosive triggered avalanches occured yesterday on a variety of aspects and elevations. Similar events are possible today on steep wind loaded aspects.
