Dangerous avalanche conditions exist. You can easily trigger a dangerous slab avalanche on most steep slopes that face northwest through north to east and they can grow large enough to bury you. Conservative decision-making is essential to travel safely through the backcountry. The easiest way to reduce your chances of getting caught in an avalanche is to avoid traveling on or underneath slopes steeper than about 30 degrees that face these aspects of concern.
