Avalanche Summary

Last week's warm weather and recent cold nights transformed the snowpack and made it difficult to trigger an avalanche. Still, you may be able to trigger an avalanche on steep north to east-facing slopes above treeline. Avoid pockets of stiff, wind-drifted snow on slopes steeper than about 35 degrees, especially around rocky trigger points. Even a small slide can become dangerous in consequential terrain.
