Warm temperatures overnight and very warm temperatures and rain showers during the day could create areas of unstable snow in steep terrain. At the upper elevations strong southwest to south winds will create isolated pockets of new surface slab up to a foot deep. These shallow surface slabs may be sensitive to human triggers in very steep avalanche starting zones and cliff areas. At the mid elevations and the upper portion of the lower elevations the potential for wet slides to occur could develop due to the warm temperatures and rainfall. Snow depths are limited below an elevation of 7,000 feet, however caution is advised where snow persists on steep slopes.

Expect partly to mostly cloudy skies on Sunday with a chance for light mountain snow/valley rain. Overnight lows in the mountains will be near 20 before rising into the upper 20s during the day. Southwesterly ridgetop winds will veer to the west at 25 to 35 miles per hour.After a solid freeze overnight, the general avalanche hazard is expected to be LOW on Sunday. With the exception of some very shallow, wet loose sluffs in the afternoon, the snowpack is mostly stable and avalanches are unlikely.
