Tetons
Avalanche danger
Highlights
Repeated melt-freeze cycles have consolidated the snowpack and created mostly stable conditions, however above freezing temperatures and abundant sunshine will combine to soften the snow and present the potential for human triggered wet slides on steep sunlit aspects after significant warming occurs.
Avalanche Discussion
Clear skis and steep thermal inversions will persist. Valley fog is likely in the morning. In the mountains temperatures will drop into the 20's tonight and rise into the 40's on Thursday. Valley bottoms will experience lows near zero tonight and highs near 40 tomorrow. AVALANCHE HAZARD FOR THE TETON, TOGWOTEE PASS/CONTINENTAL DIVIDE AND GREYS RIVER/SOUTHWEST TRAILS AREA The general avalanche hazard for is expected to be LOW. The potential for isolated human triggered wet slide activity will increase on steep sunlit aspects as the day progresses and temperatures rise.
