Avalanche Summary

New snow rests above a layer of buried surface hoar, which will make it easy to trigger an avalanche where you find more than a foot of freshly fallen snow. Avalanches could break deeper and grow larger on northerly and easterly-facing slopes at upper elevations. Travel cautiously and give steep slopes facing these directions a wide berth. You can trigger an avalanche from a distance, either above, below, or adjacent to an avalanche path.
