Avalanche Summary

You could trigger an avalanche where elevated winds on Saturday drifted snow into deeper or firmer slabs in the alpine. Winds were strong enough to drift snow at near and below treeline elevations. Susceptible slopes will look white and smooth with no rocks poking through or have the smooth lens-like appearance of a drifted area near ridgelines and in dish-like features. Cracking in the snow surface is a sign that you have found an unstable area of snow. If you observe this move to lower-angle slopes.
