Avalanche Summary

Avoiding rounded pillows of newly drifted snow is the best way to reduce your chances of triggering an avalanche. These may get large enough to bury you and certainly could take you for a nasty ride. Close to ridgelines, in gullies, and around terrain and vegetation breaks are where you are most likely to trigger a slide.
