Avalanche Summary

Avalanche conditions are generally safe. However, you might be able to trigger a small avalanche when you encounter drifts of snow that are more than about 6 inches deep. Look for isolated areas of drifted snow at upper elevations, particularly northeast through east to southeast-facing slopes. Steep, open slopes that sit directly below ridgetop are where you will find the most recent loading. Although small, these avalanches can be dangerous if they drag you over rocks or into a gully.
