Avalanche Summary

New snow on Sunday and Monday will fall mainly on bare ground across the region, except for where old snow persists on shady north-facing slopes above 12,000ft. Here, old snow has been battered into slick crusts by the wind and sun, forming firm surfaces that the new snow may not adhere well to. You might be able to trigger small avalanches where you find new snow that shears off these pockets of firm old snow.
