Avalanche Summary

The most dangerous slopes face an easterly direction at upper elevations. Recent winds created a cohesive slab that rests on a weak layer buried about one to three feet deep. These slabs might extend farther down the slope than anticipated, so steer clear of areas with textured snow or pillow-like drifts. For a safer travel option, look for wind-sheltered slopes or slopes less than about 30 degrees.
