Human triggered wet slides are possible in very steep terrain and cliff areas during the warmest portion of the day. Monitor conditions and avoid steep terrain after significant softening of the snow surfaces has occurred.
Wet loose and wet slab avalanches are possible today in steep terrain. These wet slides could be human triggered. Wet slides may release from steep rocky areas and could gouge down to deeper layers.
An increasing southerly flow will bring clouds with a chance of rain and snow showers after midnight. On Tuesday snow showers are likely at the upper elevations and rain showers are likely at the mid and lower elevations. Air temperatures will remain above freezing overnight and will rise into the 40s and 50s during the day. Southwest winds will increase to 20 miles per ahead of a strong cold front that will move into the region on Tuesday night. The general avalanche hazard is expected to be LOW but could increase to MODERATE in locations that receive heavy rainfall. Monitor conditions and avoid steep terrain if the snowpack is isothermal.
