Slab avalanches one to three feet in depth could be human triggered on old snow surfaces and buried faceted snow.
Soft surface slabs lie upon old snow surfaces formed during the most recent drought period. Along with shallow, loose snow sluffs, these slabs could be human triggered on steep avalanche prone slopes. The slabs also have potential to step down to deeper layers of weak faceted snow, especially at the mid elevations. Evaluate the snow and terrain carefully and avoid areas of concern.

Expect colder temperatures on Wednesday as arctic air becomes more entrenched over the region. Skies will be partly to mostly cloudy, and a chance for light, scattered flurries will continue. Overnight lows in the mountains will be near minus 10 before rising to near zero during the day. Ridgetop winds will shift to the southwest at 5 to 10 miles per hour.Backcountry travelers could trigger persistent slabs up to four feet deep. These slabs lie upon a snowpack with poor structure. This is particularly true in the Togwotee Pass area where the shallow snowpack is more faceted. There, the general avalanche hazard is expected to be CONSIDERABLE. In the Tetons and the Greys River area, the general avalanche hazard is expected to be MODERATE.
