Avalanches are unlikely today, as mostly stable snow exists. Low danger does not mean no danger. If venturing into very steep terrain today, travel one at a time and keep eyes on your partner in the event that unstable snow is encountered.

New snow that has accumulated over the last 48 hours is not enough to increase the avalanche danger for today. Prior to this dusting, it had been 2 weeks since any new snow had fallen. This dry spell has allowed the snowpack to stabilize and keep avalanche potential to a minimum. Exceptions to this could be found in the form of shallow pockets of recently formed stiff wind slabs in the alpine and small loose snow avalanches involving weak surface snow on very steep sheltered north facing slopes. When traveling in terrain involving terrain traps or exposure below, be aware that even a small avalanche can have significant consequences.
