Adjacent to ridgelines in all aspects as well as at a distance from ridgelines: The strong wind has transported the fresh and old snow significantly. Especially transitions into gullies and bowls places that are protected from the wind: The hard wind slabs can be released in isolated cases at their margins, especially on extremely steep slopes at high altitude. Until the temperature drops only isolated moist and wet avalanches are possible as the day progresses, but they will be mostly small. This applies in particular in steep rocky terrain, and at the base of rock walls.
Snow depths vary greatly at high altitude, depending on the infuence of the wind. In particular on sunny slopes a little snow is lying in all altitude zones. Also adjacent to ridgelines hardly any snow is lying. As a consequence of the strong to storm force wind, a crust formed on the surface. The snowpack is largely stable and its surface has a melt-freeze crust that is strong in many cases. Sunshine and high temperatures will give rise as the day progresses to moistening of the snowpack in particular on sunny slopes below approximately 2900 m.
The avalanche danger will persist.
