Highlights

A generally favourable avalanche situation will prevail.

Snowpack Structure

5 to 10 cm of snow has fallen. As a consequence of a strong wind from southwesterly directions, small wind slabs will form in some regions. Only a little snow is lying. The snowpack will be subject to considerable local variations.

Tendency

Significant increase in avalanche danger as a consequence of new snow and wind. 30 to 40 cm of snow, and even more in some localities, will fall.

Avalanche Activity

A generally favourable avalanche situation will prevail.

Wind slabs are small and can only be released in isolated cases. Individual avalanche prone locations are to be found on very steep north and east facing slopes at elevated altitudes, in particular in gullies and bowls. The avalanche prone locations are rare and are easy to recognise. Restraint should be exercised because avalanches can sweep people along and give rise to falls.
