Avalanche Activity

In all altitude zones only a little snow is lying. The more recent wind slabs represent the main danger.

As a consequence of a sometimes strong northwesterly wind, clearly visible wind slabs formed by Monday in particular adjacent to ridgelines. Wind slabs are in many cases small but can in some cases be released easily especially at their margins. The avalanche prone locations are to be found especially on very steep shady slopes above approximately 2400 m. The wind slabs are to be avoided whenever possible.

Snowpack Structure

In all altitude zones only a little snow is lying. Faceted weak layers exist in the snowpack in particular on shady slopes. The snowpack will be subject to considerable local variations.
