Avalanche Summary

Steep wind-drifted slopes are the most likely places to trigger an avalanche. They can break under recent storm snow, or possibly deeper if they gouge into deeper layers. Look for stiffer slabs below ridges, cornices, or along the sides of steeper chutes as features to avoid. Stick to lower-angle slopes and wind-sheltered terrain to reduce your risk.
