Over a wide area 25 cm of snow has fallen above approximately 2400 m. The new snow is bonding only slowly with the old snowpack in particular on steep shady slopes above approximately 2400 m. Towards its base, the snowpack is faceted and weak. The new snow can be released easily or naturally in all aspects above the tree line.
