Avalanche Summary

You can trigger wet snow avalanches or large cornice falls, and some avalanches may run naturally during or after heavy rain. Some of these may be very large and may run into the below treeline elevation band. After rain, and without a freezing night, starting and ending your day early may not be enough to avoid avalanches. Move off and away from steep terrain if you experience collapsing or snow surfaces become too soft and cohesionless.
