At the upper elevations and on steep northerly aspects at the mid elevations up to 19 inches of new snow with up to 1.5 inches of water and moderate southwest to westerly winds have increased the load on a persistent weak layer. Skier triggered slab avalanches up to 30 inches in depth are likely and natural avalanche activity is possible in steep avalanche prone terrain where the October rain crust exists at the base of the snowpack.
