Highlights

Surface slabs to two feet in depth lie upon weak faceted snow and crusts at the mid and upper elevations. Although natural activity is not expected today, pockets of these slabs could be triggered by humans, where skiers or snowboarders venture into steep, wind loaded, avalanche starting zones. Avalanches are unlikely in the very shallow snowpack at low elevations. Yesterday a snowboarder was uninjured after being caught and swept over the cliffs in Glory Bowl where a fatality occurred on this same week four years ago under similar circumstances.
