Highlights
The general avalanche hazard is CONSIDERABLE this morning and will increase to HIGH in the afternoon. New, heavy snow has created surface slabs to two feet in depth in avalanche terrain. These slabs will be easily triggered on steep slopes and could pull out deeper layers of weak snow. The size and sensitivity of these slabs will increase in the day today as more snow is expected to fall and the chance for natural avalanche activity occurs. TRAVEL IN AVALANCHE TERRAIN IS NOT RECCOMENDED THIS AFTERNOON.
