Highlights
The general avalanche hazard is MODERATE today. New snow and strong west winds will form new slabs up to two feet in depth in avalanche starting starting zones. These slabs will lie upon light density snow and slick hard old snow surfaces. They will be easily triggered by snowmachines and skiers who venture into avalanche terrain. Use caution and avoid known avalanche paths, steep canyons, gullies and other terrain traps.
