A thin layer of new snow should settle on Wednesday in areas protected from the wind. With the forecasted refreezing, this snow is likely to be on a crust. The depth of the crust will vary depending on the slope and the exposure to the sun. Sometimes it can support the weight of a skier and sometimes it breaks. The driest and least crusted snow is definitely on the northern slopes protected from the wind. The middle of the snowpack is well consolidated. Near the summits in the alpine, and on the windy slopes, crust and ice are generalized. On other slopes, the snow is dense, hardened by the wind and affected by the freeze-thaw cycle of the last few days. In general, the height of the snow cover varies from 80 to 100 cm in the valley to 110 to 160 cm in the mid-mountain.
