Little Yoho.
Excellent conditions in the mountains with 20 cm of dry snow overlying a generally stable snowpack. Natural avalanches are not expected, but if the sun comes out, there could be some action. Winds come up on Thursday to blow the surface snow around.
Continued stable weather pattern with a mix of clear skies and flurries throughout the day on Wednesday with mostly light winds out of the southwest.
20 cm of light, dry new snow with minimal to no wind effect over the past 48-hours sits over a generally well settled and deep snowpack. In areas with less snow (< 150 cm), a dense mid-pack overlies a facetted base while deep snowpack areas (> 150 cm) have a strong, solid base.
No new avalanches observed or reported today, although our field observations are very limited. Today was a drive and short field trip to Bow Summit.
