Forecast Snow Stability: Many slopes exposed to the recent South-Easterly winds will be stable. Older windslab will exist in localised areas such as sheltered gullies and steep slopes with a mainly Westerly to Northerly aspect above 1000 metres. Wind transport of existing snow later in the day may add fresh windslab to these areas, fresh accumulations are not expected to be deep or extensive. Corrie rims and gully tops will be most affected, cornices will be fragile. The avalanche hazard will be Low.

Forecast Weather Influences: Mainly dry conditions with only light snow showers expected later in day. Winds will generally be from the East-South-East, fresh initially becoming strong by evening. The freezing level will be around 1000 metres. Observed Weather Influences: Light new snow overnight has affected slopes mainly above 800 metres, Winds have been moderate to fresh mainly from the South-East. The freezing level is around 950 metres. ObservedSnowStability: Much of the snowpack has been scoured by the recent strong South-Easterly wind, stability in these areas is generally good and icy in many places. Older windslab exists mainly above 950 metres on Westerly and Northerly aspects with some fresh moderately bonded localised accumulations forming overnight. Most affected are gully exits and steep corrie headwalls. Some fragile cornices exist in these areas. The avalanche hazard is Low.
