Avalanche Activity

The danger of moist and wet avalanches will increase a little during the day.

Monday: The surface of the snowpack has frozen to form a strong crust. The weather conditions will give rise to slight moistening of the snowpack. As the day progresses as a consequence of warming during the day and solar radiation there will be an increase in the avalanche danger. More moist snow slides and avalanches are possible, but they will be mostly small. High altitudes and the high Alpine regions: The near-surface layers of the snowpack can be released in isolated cases and mostly by large additional loads.

Snowpack Structure

Below approximately 2400 m only a little snow is lying on south facing slopes.
