Forecast Snow Stability: Accumulations of fresh snow are not expected to be significant and will be confined to summits. As the day progresses, isolated instabilities may be present on steep North to East aspects on highest summits but these will be easily avoidable. The old remaining snow patches will be stable. The avalanche hazard will be Low.

Forecast Weather Influences: Gale force South-South-Westerly winds will continue, easing only slightly over the period. The freezing level will be around 1200 metres. Showers becoming increasingly frequent through morning and near constant by evening, especially on coastal hills. Sleet or wet snow confined to the highest summits. Observed Weather Influences: A mild day with the freezing level well above the summits. A generally dry morning with rain showers becoming more frequent in the afternoon. Storm force South-South-Westerly winds. ObservedSnowStability: The existing wet and stable snow patches continue to thaw at all levels. These snow patches are confined to corrie rims and deep gullies, mainly above 900 metres on North to East aspects. Very little snow below 800 metres. The avalanche hazard is Low.
