Regions

Banff Yoho Kootenay.

Rain, clouds, poor overnight recovery do not leave many reaching for skis. Isothermal snow and wet avalanches seem likely.

Weather Forecast

A couple of cooler days are forecast with rainy bits and poor overnight recovery. The snowline is expected to be about treelinish moving up and down throughout the day. Expect lots of isothermal snow.

Snowpack Summary

The snowpack is enduring repeated freeze/thaw cycles with very high overnight freezing levels the past few nights. Avalanche danger predominantly relates to temperature, sun affect, rain and surface crust integrity under these conditions (spring).

Avalanche Summary

Some larger avalanches to 2.5 were noted yesterday in Yoho above treeline in the highway corridor.
