Highlights

Dribs and drabs of new snow are falling on widespread surface hoar. There's not enough for big avalanches but sluffs could be running fast!

Conditions are changing. If snowfall amounts are greater than forecast or wind is building a slab be prepared to back off your line!

New snow is starting to bury our widespread drought layer of surface hoar, a sturdy crust and facets. Expect this new snow to bond poorly and run fast as loose dry. As the wind picks up we may see a reactive slab start to form in lee features.

Confidence

Moderate

  • We are uncertain about forecast snowfall amounts.
  • We are uncertain due to how buried persistent weak layers will react with the forecast weather.
