The wind slabs are to be assessed critically. Avalanches can be released by small loads. More medium-sized to large slab avalanches are possible. This applies in particular above approximately 2400 m. In particular on steep shady slopes the avalanches can be released in deep layers of the snowpack and reach large size. As a consequence of warming during the day and solar radiation moist avalanches are possible as the day progresses, even medium-sized ones. This applies in particular on very steep sunny slopes at the base of rock walls in particular below approximately 2700 m. Backcountry touring calls for careful route selection.
The wind was moderate to strong. The wind slabs are poorly bonded with the old snowpack above approximately 2400 m. Individual weak layers exist in the bottom section of the snowpack in shady places that are protected from the wind, in particular at high altitude. The high temperatures as the day progresses will give rise to increasing moistening of the snowpack in particular at intermediate altitudes.
