Warming to the high Alpine regions.
Warming to the high Alpine regions.
Individual avalanche prone locations are to be found on extremely steep slopes. Dry avalanches can be released in the weakly bonded old snow in very isolated cases. In steep terrain there is a danger of falling on the hard snow surface. As a consequence of warming during the day and solar radiation small to medium-sized wet avalanches are to be expected below approximately 2900 m.
Less snow than usual is lying, especially on steep southeast, south and southwest facing slopes below approximately 2600 m. The snowpack will be generally subject to considerable local variations. Sunshine and high temperatures will give rise as the day progresses to increasing moistening of the snowpack, in particular on very steep sunny slopes.
The avalanche danger will persist.
