LO for 17/3 Gradual thaw at all levels. Stability generally improving. Low hazard.

Forecast Snow Stability: The snowpack will gradually thaw and consolidate at all levels. Snowpack stability will continue to gradually improve. Any remaining cornices will be prone to collapse. The avalanche hazard will be Low.

Snowpack Structure

Forecast Weather Influences: It will remain warm with the freezing level above the summits throughout the period. Some light rain is expected overnight. Southerly winds will slowly ease. Observed Weather Influences: It has been a warm and wet day with the freezing level rising above the summits around 3am this morning. Moderate to strong South-Westerly winds over the summits. ObservedSnowStability: There has been a period of wet snow instability overnight and during this morning but as the day progressed stability has gradually improved. Avalanche activity observed on North-East aspects on Ben Nevis this morning. The avalanche hazard is Moderate.
