As a consequence of new snow and a moderate to strong wind, wind slabs formed especially adjacent to ridgelines and in gullies and bowls. The new snow and wind slabs can be released by a single winter sport participant in isolated cases above approximately 1900 m. The avalanche prone locations are to be found especially in steep terrain and at transitions from a shallow to a deep snowpack. Avalanches can in isolated cases be triggered in the old snowpack and reach large size in isolated cases. This applies in particular in case of a large load.

Above approximately 1800 m snow fell on Wednesday in some regions. As a consequence of new snow and a moderate wind, sometimes avalanche prone wind slabs formed in the regions exposed to heavier precipitation. Fresh wind slabs are lying on a crust in all aspects above the tree line. Adjacent to ridgelines and in pass areas as well as in high Alpine regions snow depths vary greatly, depending on the infuence of the wind. Over a wide area less snow than usual is lying. In very isolated cases weak layers exist in the snowpack on shady slopes.
