The small quantity of fresh snow as well as the scattered mostly small wind slabs represent the main danger.
Some fresh snow and the small wind slabs are lying on top of a quite favourable old snowpack. The fresh wind slabs are mostly small but can only be released in isolated cases. In the regions exposed to snowfall this applies in particular adjacent to ridgelines and in the regions neighbouring those that are subject to danger level 2 (moderate). As the temperature drops there will be a rapid decrease in the danger of moist and wet avalanches during the course of the night.
In some localities in some localities up to 10 cm of snow will fall until the early morning above approximately 2400 m. Adjacent to ridgelines and in pass areas as well as in high Alpine regions snow depths vary greatly, depending on the infuence of the wind. Over a wide area only a small amount of snow is lying for the time of year.
