Little Yoho.
Still litlle to no observations in the Little Yoho region right now. Expect conditions to be rugged at lower elevations. Give recently formed windslabs a bit more time to settle out.
Warm moist air from the pacific is colliding with cold dry continental air over the divide right now. A few flakes, cooler temps and light NW has been the result. Tuesday the pacific air will start to over-ride the arctic air and a mild inversion will result. Some flurries are likely Wed as the pacific flow invades.
10-35cm of recent snow with W winds has formed wind slabs in many areas in the alpine and isolated areas at treeline. The Nov 12 crust down 20-50cm is facetting and weakening and is found everywhere except on high N slopes. At this point the bond to the crust seems strong. Below this the base is quite supportive except in thin snowpack areas.
No new reported or observed avalanches today and little to no observations in the Little Yoho region. Nearby, small skier triggered windslabs have been seen over the last few days .
