Avalanche Activity

New snow and wind slabs above the tree line.

In particular in the regions with a lot of snow more small and medium-sized dry avalanches are possible as a consequence of new snow and wind. These can be released, even by small loads in isolated cases or triggered naturally. The wind slabs have formed adjacent to ridgelines and in gullies and bowls in all aspects and generally at elevated altitudes. They are to be bypassed in particular in very steep terrain.

Snowpack Structure

Over a wide area 40 to 50 cm of snow, and even more in some localities, fell in the last five days. In isolated cases new snow is lying on a hard crust. In all regions only a small amount of snow is lying for the time of year.
