Avalanche Activity

The visible wind slabs of the last few days represent the main danger.

In particular adjacent to ridgelines and in gullies and bowls visible wind slabs formed. Especially on wind-loaded slopes more small and, in isolated cases, medium-sized avalanches are possible. Avalanches can be released, mostly by large loads.

Snowpack Structure

In some cases new snow and wind slabs are lying on the smooth surface of an old snowpack. Weak layers exist in the snowpack.
